Generate new landscape maintenance service contract sales for Cleary Bros. Landscape, Inc. (CBL). Our work includes landscape services of commercial real estate types . . .Office, Large Corporate Sites, Retail, Resort, Home Owners Associations, and related landscaped sites. The ideal candidate must be a self starter that possesses a passion for success, and a proven sales record in the San Francisco Bay Area. The regional territory for this position is the East Bay. Representative must have the ability to meet the assigned annual contract sales goals.

Hiring Construction Superintendant

General Superintendents are responsible for:

  • Hiring, managing, training and developing employees; managing performance of employees – including conducting performance appraisals
  • Planning, scheduling and administering the branch budget
  • Ensuring that all jobs are completed according to plans, are within budget and according to promised deadlines
  • Delivering timely and accurate reports, financials, schedules and budgets on a regular basis
  • Coaching, evaluating and training staff and field workers in the performance of landscape construction services
  • Inspecting all field work; analyzing and resolving problems
  • Managing labor force & subcontractors to ensure labor budgets are on track
  • Maintaining accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs; updating production tracking reports and generating other related reports as needed
  • Responsible for dispatch of labor and equipment to job sites
  • Managing equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance
  • Ensuring that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications & drawings, are within budget and on schedule
  • Representing the company, interfacing and building relationships with owners, clients, architects, general contractors and subcontractors
  • Managing tools and equipment delivery, storage, operation and maintenance
  • Ensuring that entire branch operates safely and efficiently at all times
  • Communicating Company goals to management and employees
  • Ensuring that employees are both results oriented and operating as a team
  • Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting the Company culture, in particular, regarding safety, quality and customer service


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years experience managing field operations/ design–build operations, general construction operations
  • Minimum 10 years experience working with a general contractor, or a specialty contractor, with extensive knowledge and experience in labor management and production
  • Minimum 5 years experience with large construction equipment management and crane operations and managmenet
  • Significant local construction and field experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience in field operations/taking plans from the design phase through installation
  • Prefer Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or related experience, but not required
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is a plus
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong commitment to a safe and effective work place
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

This is a critical position in the Cleary Bros. company structure.  The Maintenance Foremen is the key driver in the success of our maintenance production.  This position is responsible for carrying out the scope of work in Cleary Bros. maintenance contracts.  The Foreman needs to engage effective leadership, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and consistency.

  • • Understand that this is the position of a Working Foreman

  • • Be able to lift 50 lbs of weight throughout the day
  • • Use assigned tools and equipment
  • • Assist in keeping the job site tidy/safe for the public and company employees
  • • Report to work at the assigned time and assigned location, perform duties as assigned. If unable to report to work, notification to the office is mandatory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • • Read and follow Work orders
  • • Supervise and lead one to ten employees and able to set priorities
  • • See that the crew performs all work assigned in an efficient and safe manner within the budgeted hours
  • • Conduct weekly Tailgate Safety Meetings
  • • Identify the proper procedure for transporting, storing and using pesticides
  • • Respond to any specific needs of the client while on site working for the client
  • • Train crew members on the proper techniques for performing regular tasks
  • • Properly discipline crew members
  • • Demonstrate knowledge of the proper use of landscape chemicals
  • • See that all equipment is maintained and secured upon leaving the job site
  • • Review weekly work order reports and close out any completed jobs
  • • Review all timecards to ensure that all hours are accurate and job coded appropriately
  • • Perform regular safety inspections on assigned vehicles and trailers
  • • Supervise safety programs and ensure the timely reporting of injuries
  • • Maintain a valid Driver’s License to drive crew members from site to site
  • • Maintain physical fitness level necessary to complete assigned job tasks
  • • Assist the MPM with the  performance reviews
  • • Ensure crews have appropriate uniforms that fit properly

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
  • Work near or about natural bodies of water
  • Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required)
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
  • Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
